Dear Democratic National Convention Delegates,
Welcome to Philadelphia, the country’s first World Heritage City and the birthplace of American democracy. We know you will be very busy while you’re in town for the Convention, but we hope you will take some time to see some of the great sites and attractions our city has to offer — and who better to get recommendations from than Philadelphians themselves?
In April, 100 days before the start of the Convention, the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee launched #WhatMakesPhilly, a social media promotional campaign to encourage Philadelphians to post what they love most about their city on their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts.
We were thrilled with the response, with more than 2,000 suggestions posted. We have selected the top 10 that we think really encapsulate what the city is all about and are sharing them with you so that, the moment you arrive here, you already have 10 things to fill your free time with while you’re in Philadelphia.

We hope that you find the time to stop by as many of these places as possible — and then share some of your own #WhatMakesPhilly experiences. And if you don’t have time to do everything during Convention Week, we hope you will return to Philadelphia and see and do even more.
Welcome to our city. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee, on behalf of all #WhatMakesPhilly participants
