Over the weekend, we were excited to announce a social media campaign celebrating the 100 day marker to the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. We’re asking Philadelphians to tell and show us what they think makes Philadelphia the unique, vibrant city it is via original user generated content shared on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Participants are asked to use #WhatMakesPhilly and tag @PHLDNC2016 in their posts or tweets.

The Host Committee will select 10 social posts that best reflect what the city is about and turn them into a letter from Philadelphians to delegates, which will be included in the official welcome bag delegates receive upon arrival in Philadelphia. The cutoff date for #WhatMakesPhilly submissions is June 30th.  The individuals whose posts are included in the letter will also win tickets to one of the Host Committee’s parties during the week of the Convention.

Governor Rendell announced the social campaign during a press conference commemorating 100 days from the Democratic National Convention at the National Constitution Center on Saturday, April 16th. Following the announcement, he posted his own #WhatMakesPhilly tweet.

We are excited to see what Philadelphia’s want to share with the thousands of delegates that will be coming to town for the Convention. This will be a great way to showcase the many different sides of the city and and continues our call to residents to help us host the biggest party in town this summer.

Deadline for entry is June 30th, 5pm ET. Host Committee staff and their relatives are not eligible to win tickets to a Host Committee party. You must be 21+ to be eligible to win. Entries will be evaluated for content that best spotlights the attributes of Philadelphia. 10 winners will be selected to win tickets to a Host Committee party during Convention week (July 23-28), party details will be provided after winners are notified (between July 1-6, 2016). This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
